A pair of 19th-century English antique brass galleried candlesticks
A pair of 19th-century English antique brass galleried candlesticks, once a familiar sight in Victorian homes. Each features a single candleholder designed to accommodate either a shorter candle with the use of an additional fitting, or a longer candle when the fitting is removed and the candle is placed directly into the stem (see images). The brass gallery beneath is elegantly reticulated with a decorative pattern and includes a practical carry handle. Both candlesticks retain their original snuffers.
These pieces look wonderful when lit and exude all the warmth and charm of their period.
Condition – Please refer to the images for a full visual description. There are signs of age and use, including some light denting around the rims; one candlestick is missing its sconce.
Size – 9.5 cm diameter, 8 cm tall (not including the snuffer).
Price – £135.00, including UK shipping.
