For sale, thisextremely rare mid Victorian Railway pocket watch by John Walker, circa 1860. This John Walker cased version only has a hinged rear section with a duct cover to the fine fully signed gilt movement. The fine fully signed dial retains its original deep blued handset, the dial is free from chips or restoration but shows a couple of very faint hairlines. The large heavy case measures 59mm in diameter excluding the stem and loop, the depth is 24mm and the overall length is 87mm. The case looks to have been engraved but has long since been worn away, probably Great Northern Railway issue. The watch is in full working order. Please refer to the Great Northern Railway John Walker example also currently for sale for comparison, these two watches being almost identical in size and construction. Price £995.00
