For sale this fine Makuzu Kozan vase of squat flattened bulbous form decorated with stylised phoenix, dating Meiji period. This rare fine example of this famous Japanese Potters work is in original undamaged and unrestored condition. The glaze of a celadon hue decorated under the glaze in a pale blue with a stylized phoenix either side, the two ends, with pine and leaf decoration. Full impressed seal mark to the base. The glaze with fine deliberate crazing, three bust glaze bubbles through firing only. Size approx. 14cm tall and 13.5cm wide and 11cm wide.
