For sale a fine pair of Japanese Arita shallow octagonal small dishes, dating from the 18th century. Each dish is decorated with a central garden scene in iron red, gold and green enamels against an underglaze blue background. The walls decorated withcoutaches of birds andpeaches again against an underglaze blue design of chrysanthemum heads their centres picked out in gold. The reverse with a floral ribbon design below a stylized wave design. Each dish with the six-character Ming mark Jiajing. Each dish is approx. 12.5cm diameter by 3cm tall, both are in excellent undamaged original condition. Price £265.00 the pair.
