Japanese Hirado carved dishes, a pair, late 19th century

  For sale are these pair of large Japanese Hirado carved dishes, late 19th century. With a diameter of approx 26cm and 3.8cm high, each dish is finely carved with stylized clouds to the well of each dish, further decorated to each centre with a fabulous beast in under galze blue. The underside of each decorated in underglaze blue and white with a floral scroll. Both dishes signed. One dish with four rim chips and two related short hairlines. The second with only two shallow  rim chips and no hairlines.  Very attactive as a pair and of this larger size.  Price £265.00l
