For sale this fine Japanese Arita Kakiemon shallow dish with six foliated insets, six-character Ming mark, Chenghua. Circa 1700. Decorated in underglaze blue and Kakiemon enamels. The white centre further decorated with yellow banded hedges with bamboo and prunus in green, blue, red, and gold. A small blue and green bird in flight opposite. The border in underglaze blue with rocky outcrops, prunus, and pine, with further green, red and yellow enamels. Size, diameter approx. 20.2cm and 2.9cm deep. Original firing fissure leading on to hairline as shown in pics but undoubtedly done during firing. No other damage or restoration.
