18th Century Chinese Famille Rose Shallow Bowl, Circa 1780
For sale is an attractive 18th-century Chinese Famille Rose shallow bowl dating to around 1780. The centre is decorated in the Famille Rose palette with a floral bouquet, accompanied by four additional flower heads radiating outward. A narrow gilt rope-pattern border encircles the decoration, followed by a scrolling design beneath an orange and key-fret motif along the top rim.
The bowl has one shallow rim sliver (visible in the photos) and minor fritting to the rim glaze. It is free from restoration, hairlines, or major chips.
The bowl measures 20.5 cm in diameter and 4 cm deep. A very attractive and reasonably priced piece at £65.00, including UK shipping.
