Rare Caughley blue-and-white “Fisherman” pattern shell-shaped pickle dish, circa 1780.
For sale is a good example of a Caughley blue-and-white “Fisherman” design pickle dish in a shell form, dating to around 1780. It is in good condition, with only a couple of very shallow glaze flakes to the rim and light wear to the well of the dish, along with one line, as shown in the pics. There are no restorations. The circular base bears the C (non-hatched) mark.
Dimensions: 13 cm long, 13 cm wide, 2.8 cm high.
