An exceptionally rare and highly collectible stainless steel aviator’s chronograph from the golden era of 1970s tool watches. Housed in a distinctive tonneau-shaped case, with a fixed non rotating bezel, typical of the period, this fascinating reference combines strong vintage aesthetics with excellent wrist presence and functionality.

Preserved in excellent original unpolished condition, the watch features oversized luminous hour markers and an unusual high-visibility chronograph snakeshead shaped minute hand, offering outstanding legibility alongside unmistakable period character. The design language closely aligns with other specialist sporting chronographs produced by Lemania during the early 1970s.

Research indicates that the neighbouring reference 9601 corresponds to the elusive Lemania bullhead chronograph, placing the Ref. 9602 within a particularly rare and desirable family of vintage chronographs. Cases from this production period were frequently left unsigned and were also retailed under the Richard name, adding further intrigue and collectability to this seldom-seen model.

Powered by the renowned Lemania calibre 1872 manual-wind chronograph movement, this example remains signed on both the dial and movement.
