H.W. Bedford Regent Street London – Goliath Silver Pocket Watch (c.1910)

A rare and impressive oversized Goliath pocket watch retailed by H. W. Bedford, 67 Regent Street, London, circa 1910. Crafted in Switzerland and housed in a substantial 70mm solid 0.935 silver case, this exceptional timepiece represents superior quality and presence compared to standard 0.800 or 0.925 silver examples.

The original black enamel dial is fully signed and beautifully preserved in unrestored condition. It features bold white Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, and white painted hands beneath a highly beveled glass crystal. The striking black-and-white contrast gives the watch remarkable clarity and visual impact.

The gilt metal, pin-set, keyless-wind movement is signed:

“The Atlas Watch, Manufactured in Switzerland.”

Recently serviced and running very well, the movement is numbered 629829, matching the silver case. Both the inner cover and cuvette are stamped with 0.935 silver hallmarks. The smooth polished case finish remains in excellent overall condition.
