Vintage Netherlands Air Force Issued Olma Pilot’s Watch – Ref. KLU 6B/234 (c.1955)
Rare and highly collectible military timepiece issued to the Royal Netherlands Air Force (KLU). This original Olma pilot’s watch, reference KLU 6B/234, serial number 423, dates to approximately 1955.
The KLU (Koninklijke Luchtmacht) was established in 1953 as the successor to the LSK and remains active today. These issued watches follow the British military designation “6B/234,” a specification derived from the American A-11 standard—also commonly referred to as the Mark VIII. Watches of this type were produced by several manufacturers, with Olma examples being particularly sought after.
This model would have been in service during the early years of the Royal Netherlands Air Force, likely from the mid-1950s through to the late 1950s.
