A highly collectible and exceptionally rare Afghan Army issue Omega Seamaster 600 dating to the mid-1960s, reference 135.0011. Supplied to officers and pilots of the Afghan military, these watches were issued in either stainless steel or gold-filled cases, with this example being the rarer gold-filled variant.

Due to the extreme Afghan climate and decades of use, very few surviving examples remain in original, unrestored condition. Many known examples have been refinished or heavily restored, making this watch a particularly desirable collector’s piece.

This example retains its original silvered dial, showing honest and natural ageing and patination acquired over time. The dial features gold baton hour markers, matching gold hands, and a sweep seconds hand, all signed “Seamaster 600”. The original character and untouched condition of the dial add significantly to its appeal.

Powered by the reliable Omega calibre 601 manual wind movement, signed by Omega. The watch is housed in a 34mm gold-filled case with stainless steel backplate and fitted with a plexiglass crystal. The caseback retains the highly sought-after original offset military issue stamping.

Condition is consistent with age and military use, with visible wear, marks, and scratches throughout, though nothing detrimental to the integrity or presentation of the watch. The crown appears original. The watch remains in fine working order and has been intentionally left unpolished to preserve its originality.
